Dr. Abla Abdel Latif, Executive Director of the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies, said that the most important items of the study prepared by the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies with the Export Council for Food Industries on increasing export opportunities from food industries are:
1- Successful implementation of the proposed policies depends on effective coordination between all concerned parties, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank and others, each other on the one hand, and between them and the private sector on the other.
2 - The importance of joining the White List of the Food Safety Authority, to exempt manufacturers from many problems related to the work of the various government agencies concerned.
3- The necessity to solve all the problems of the agricultural sector.
4- The centrality of the efficiency of the Ministry of Finance in determining the effectiveness of the industrial and export incentives system.
5- Attention to the emergence of new types of trade agreements based on non-geographical grounds.
6- The importance of developing a smart and effective adjustment for the export burden reimbursement system in line with future export opportunities.
7 - Attention to the change occurring in the world as a result of covid 19, including the opportunities and challenges it imposes.
8- The need for continuous updating of data in order to fully benefit from this study with the completion of the industrial strategic departments of South Africa.
Dr. Yaman Al-Hamaki, professor of economics at Ain Shams University, commented that the study prepared by the Egyptian Council for Economic Studies must be sent to the Ministry of Trade and Finance, stressing that customs duties need a comprehensive review and more coordination between ministries, and we also need institutional development in the Safety Authority. Food and Export Support Fund, and there must be a vision from the state to focus on a group of industries that we support for export and have a large financial return.
Hamaki also suggested during the symposium that all government agencies related to export should be placed in one place, and that decisions regarding export should be studied before their issuance.
