25 killed and 1,108 others injured in traffic accidents in Algeria within a week


25 people were killed and 1,108 others injured as a result of 859 traffic accidents in Algeria during the period from April 18 to April 24.

 

According to the Algerian Civil Protection Statistics, the largest toll was recorded in Djelfa, with the death of 5 people and the injury of 29 others, following 19 traffic accidents.

 

The statistics added that the Civil Protection Units carried out 697 interventions to put out 433 different fires, in addition to 3,964 interventions during the same period to cover 3557 aid operations and rescue people in danger.

 

With regard to activities related to preventing the spread of the Coronavirus, the Civil Protection Units conducted 230 awareness-raising operations for citizens during the same period, urging and reminding them to respect the rules of quarantine and social distancing, in addition to conducting 219 general sterilization operations that included several public and private facilities, residential complexes and streets.
