Commercial representation: 12.2% increase in Egypt's exports to Jordan during 2020


Mona Abboud, Head of the Commercial Representation Office in Jordan, announced that Egyptian exports to Jordan increased by 12.2% during the year 2020, despite the repercussions of the Corona virus, to reach $ 495.4 million, compared to $ 441.5 million in 2019.


She added, during a webinar of the Furniture Export Council, that Egyptian imports from Jordan recorded a 4.5% decline last year, to reach $ 120.9 million, compared to $ 126 million in 2019.


Mona Abboud, head of the Egyptian Commercial Office in Jordan, announced the preparations to organize a visit for furniture importers from Jordan to the Egyptian market, in coordination with the Furniture Export Council, to increase trade cooperation between the two countries in the wood and furniture industry.


In turn, Mohamed Alaa, Director of Government Services for the Furniture Export Council, reviewed during the symposium the most important figures about Egypt's furniture exports to Jordan, which recorded $ 11 million in 2020 compared to $ 13 million in 2019, down by 15%


He explained during the electronic seminar held today, that the exports of mattresses recorded 400 thousand dollars during 2020, up from 200 thousand dollars in 2019, and manufactured wood recorded nearly one hundred thousand dollars in 2020, and other wooden products recorded an average of 50 thousand dollars as export rates to Jordan.
