Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has directed that the file of the houses targeted to be seized in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem be transferred to the International Criminal Court, according to Russia Today.
The spokesman for the Palestinian government, Ibrahim Melhem, said: "On the directives of President Mahmoud Abbas, the file of the houses targeted for seizure in Sheikh Jarrah was referred to the International Criminal Court as a war crime in accordance with the Rome Statute, and a clear violation of international law and international humanitarian law."
The residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem rejected an offer made by settlement associations to temporarily stay in their homes in exchange for recognition of the land ownership of the settlement organizations.
The Israeli court gave the Palestinian families until Thursday to reach an agreement with the settlers.
