US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has urged members of Ukraine's parliament to adopt legislation to combat corruption and strengthen the rule of law.
The US State Department said in a statement published on its website today, Thursday, after the senior US diplomat’s meeting with members of the Ukrainian Parliament, that Blinken stressed Washington’s commitment to democratic principles and institutions, in addition to the United States ’firm support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence.
The statement added, "Blinken and the members of the Ukrainian Parliament discussed the importance of passing major legislation to strengthen the rule of law, fight corruption and economic reforms that would enhance democracy and economy in Ukraine and promote Euro-Atlantic integration."
