The Algerian General Directorate of Security announced in a statement, Thursday, a set of measures to secure the legislative elections on June 12.
The statement stated, according to Algerian media, that "the General Directorate of National Security has drawn up a plan to accompany the legislative process of June 12, as it was decided to establish a special formation to secure the perimeter of voting centers and offices located in the sector of the police interests' jurisdiction, while ensuring the transportation and securing of ballot boxes."
The directorate explained that it "assigned the formation teams the task of facilitating traffic and securing public road users during the electoral event."
The same source added that "measures will be applied to prevent parking and stopping of vehicles, as well as gatherings near the institutions concerned with the operation, while ensuring that the procedures of the health protocol related to the prevention of Covid 19 are respected."
