Poll: The popularity of the French president and his prime minister is stable


An opinion poll showed the stability of the popularity of French President Emmanuel Macron and his Prime Minister Jean Castix one month ago, with support reaching 40% and 38% of positive opinions for their performance, respectively.

 

The poll - conducted by the Ifop Institute for the French newspaper (Le Journal du Dimanche) - indicated that the popularity of the French president recorded a noticeable rise in satisfaction among those aged 18-24 years (59%), as well as among those over 65 years old. (43%), but saw a 6 point drop in 25-34 year olds.

 

Four years and one month after his election, Macron is more popular than his two predecessors in the same period of their terms, with François Hollande receiving 14% of favorable reviews about his performance as head of state, and Nicolas Sarkozy 30%, and the prime minister's popularity is also rising among those who They are over 65 years old (46%).

 

This poll was conducted via telephones and the Internet from 3 to 10 June, on a sample of 1,933 French citizens.
