The Division of Car Dealers and Distributors of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce held an emergency meeting yesterday, Tuesday, to discuss the decision of the Minister of Local Development, Major General Mahmoud Shaarawy, regarding Periodic Book No. (100) for the year 2021 regarding the transfer of exhibitions outside the residential block at the level of the Republic within 3 months, to submit an urgent memorandum to the engineer Ibrahim Al-Arabi, President The General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and the President of the Cairo Chamber of the Division's proposals on this decision.
This came in the presence of Ahmed Al-Wasimi, First Vice President of the Cairo Chamber, Sameh Zaki, Second Vice President of the Cairo Chamber, on behalf of Eng. Ibrahim Al-Araby, Dr. Salah Al-Kamouni, member of the Board of Directors of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and President of the Western Chamber of Commerce, and Amr Hassan Soliman, a member of the Cairo Chamber’s Board of Directors.
The discussions dealt with the exchange of views between the division’s employees on the decision’s proposals. Ahmed Al-Wasimi demanded the division to prepare a detailed memorandum that includes all the proposals on the ground to be submitted to the head of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce to address the minister about them and to clarify all visions and the most accurate details from the viewpoint of the owners of this sector, which is what the division is currently doing.
Sameh Zaki said that the aim of this meeting is to know all opinions about the decision to transfer the exhibitions through the owners of the exhibitions themselves, because they know all the details and can determine the appropriate proposals from their point of view, and then the Chamber will play its role through Eng. Ibrahim Al-Arabi, addressing the Minister of Local Development with these proposals to discuss them in order to achieve public good.
Among the division’s proposals included in the memorandum is the necessity of codifying the conditions of all car showrooms that are committed to the conditions of licenses with the application of the law to those who are not committed with regard to all exhibitions “whether those who have permanent or temporary licenses or those who do not have licenses and have been working in this activity for years and all conditions apply to them” with Involve the Division in draft resolutions related to this sector prior to their issuance.
The division said that it is with the decisions issued by the state that target development and support it strongly, but the proposals of this sector must be taken into account, especially since the automotive sector represents an important part of the base of the national economy and contains a large number of employment and it is a sector that grows and develops, which constitutes an important axis In the development process currently targeted by the state.
The Division confirmed the exhibitions’ commitment to all the required requirements according to what the licenses include, noting that there are exhibitions with actual licenses, others with temporary licenses, and others without any licenses.
