Ashour Shoail, head of the leadership body of the Libya Movement for All, strongly urged the US envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, to fully adhere to the outcomes of the first and second Berlin conferences, and Security Council Resolutions No. 2570 and 2571 of 2021, and to implement all the provisions of the roadmap approved by the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, especially Direct simultaneous legislative and presidential elections, according to a constitutional rule and the outcomes of the Advisory Committee, scheduled to be held in advance on December 24.
Shaael stressed in a press statement that any breach or reopening of the door to amend or change the road map will open the wide door for subsequent violations and amendments, and it will not be easy after that to close this door, which may lead to the collapse of the entire political process, and a return to square one. And maybe even worse.
He stressed that adherence to the outputs of the agreement and the recent Security Council resolutions on Libya will contribute significantly and decisively to ending the transitional stages, strengthening democracy and the peaceful transfer of power, establishing security and safety, confirming the sovereignty of the Libyan state, moving towards achieving comprehensive national reconciliation, and strengthening the rule of law and public freedoms. The principle of citizenship, and giving the Libyan people the opportunity to choose their president directly.
Shoael praised the United States' tireless efforts to bring peace and stability to Libya, and push for the implementation of the full provisions of the roadmap agreed upon at the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum.
