Poland's Deputy Health Minister Waldemar Kraska has expressed his conviction that the fourth wave of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic is imminent.
In a statement carried by Polish TV "Poland N" today, Kraska suggested that the fourth wave would not be at the level of the previous waves, pointing out that the situation at the present time is stable and there are no plans to make vaccinations compulsory.
Kraska stressed that it is currently difficult to say whether the fourth wave will be in mid-August, September or October, stressing that it will depend on the number of people who will be vaccinated.
The Deputy Minister confirmed that the percentage of tested samples in which the "delta" strain was detected has increased from 8 percent in mid-June to 27 percent now, which, according to his assessment, indicates a dynamic increase in the share of the "delta" strain in the total number of injuries.
