Today, Wednesday, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics issued the annual bulletin of environment statistics, part one: environmental conditions and quality in 2019.
Among its most important indicators, the total amount of agricultural drainage water reused in agriculture reached 6.5 billion m3 in 2019/2020 and was distributed over the delta regions as follows: 2.1 billion m3 in the eastern delta region, 3.0 billion m3 in the central delta region, and 1.4 billion m3 in the western delta region.
The total areas of tree forests that were established using treated wastewater amounted to about 11,195 acres during 2019, and the largest areas were established in the governorates of Aswan (2185) acres, Sohag (2000) acres and Luxor (1700) acres, respectively.
Dakahlia governorate was among the governorates that used the most reused agricultural wastewater with an amount of 1.9 billion m3/month, or 29% of the total amount of reused agricultural wastewater during its total use in 2019/2020.
The area of coral reefs in the waters of the Red Sea amounted to 3.4 thousand square kilometers during the year 2019.
