Trade: Concluding export contracts worth $26 million, including products from several sectors


Minister of Trade and Industry Nevin Jameh announced that the first trade mission for Cameroon and Senegal achieved outstanding results, including agreeing to conclude export contracts worth $26 million for cement, clinker products, insulation materials, fertilizers, chemicals, packaging materials, engineering industries, food products, sanitary ware, plastic pipes, irrigation systems and carpets.

 

The minister said that preparations and arrangements are underway for the second trade mission of the Egyptian businessmen delegation within the "Business Links with West and Central Africa" ​​initiative for the countries of Togo and Côte d'Ivoire during the last quarter of this year, in the context of the great success of the work of the first mission and the businessmen delegation's praise of the fruitful visit results.

 

Nevin Jameh praised the great role played by the Commercial Representation Body in cooperation with the Attijariwafa bank group in preparing and organizing the first trade mission, which contributed to the success of all the events organized in Cameroon and Senegal, noting in this context that the tangible success of the first mission program represents a step Important in implementing the ministry's strategy aimed at penetrating West and Central African markets and increasing Egyptian exports to Senegal from 35 million dollars currently to 200 million dollars, in addition to increasing Egyptian exports to Cameroon from 42 million dollars currently to 125 million dollars.

 

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Maghawry, Head of Commercial Representation, explained that the work of the first mission of the Egyptian businessmen delegation to Cameroon and Senegal during the period from July 4 to 9, as part of the initiative of the Ministry of Trade and Industry in cooperation with Attijariwafa Bank Group, comes within the framework of activating the ministry’s strategy to move towards Africa, especially with regard to It relates to mechanisms for financing and supporting the work and programs of delegations of Egyptian business groupings.

 

He added that commercial representation, in cooperation with Attijariwafa Bank Group, contributed with great effort in organizing the largest Egyptian businessmen mission to Central and West Africa, with the participation of 43 companies and 65 businessmen representing the most important Egyptian export sectors, especially building materials, chemicals, insulation materials, construction, contracting, fertilizers, medicines, medical supplies, carpets and other materials. Packaging, sanitary ware, plastic pipes, food industries, irrigation systems, engineering industries and food products.

 

Maghawry pointed out that the intensive meetings that were held for the members of the Egyptian businessmen delegation included 220 business meetings in the State of Cameroon and 250 business meetings in the State of Senegal, which contributed to the agreement on the conclusion of these export contracts, indicating that the implementation of the actual contracts of these export contracts is being followed up.
