Cameroonian Minister of Health: We have not approved any vaccine against "Corona"

Today, Saturday, Cameroonian Minister of Health Malachi Manuda confirmed that his country has not yet adopted any vaccine against the "emerging corona" virus; Based on the recommendations of the Scientific Council, denying that press reports circulating for several days about Cameroon reaching an agreement with the Russian Fund for Direct Investment to register the "Sputnik-V" vaccine in the country.

The Cameroonian Minister of Health - according to the Cameroon News Agency - said that Cameroon had not approved the Russian vaccine, "Sputnik - V" as an alternative to the British vaccine, "AstraZeneca".

He added that consultations are still continuing to choose between the British "AstraZeneca" vaccine, "Sputnik - V" in the Russian Federation, and the American "Moderna".

It is noteworthy that Cameroon chose, in the beginning, the British vaccine "AstraZeneca", and was awaiting the arrival of the first batches of the vaccine.

It is noteworthy that the European Medicines Agency concluded - in its latest report - that the "Oxford AstraZeneca" vaccine against the Corona virus is "safe and effective" and "not linked" to an increased risk of blood clots, in addition to that "the benefits of the vaccine in protecting against infection with Covid-19) Surpasses the potential risks, "which prompted several European countries - including Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy and Portugal - to backtrack on stopping the use of the" AstraZeneca "vaccine.
