Al-Ahly club officials are discussing the idea of traveling from South Africa after completing the Sun Downs match in the African Championship to Qatar to play the Moroccan Berkane Renaissance match in the African Super Championship.
Al-Ahly will play Sun Downs on May 22 in South Africa in the second leg of the African Champions League quarter-finals, and then face the Moroccan Berkane Renaissance on May 28 in the African Super Cup in Qatar.
Al-Ahly wants to travel from South Africa to Qatar without returning to Cairo, especially since the team will travel the two flights by private plane, so Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the club president, discusses this idea with Musimani in order to save time and effort on the team.
In a related development, Al-Ahly coach Pitso Musimani intends to continue relying on defense duo Rami Rabia and Badr Bannon in the South African Sun Downs match scheduled for next Saturday in the African Championship.
The triple Ahly, Rami Rabia, has Badr Bannon and Yasser Ibrahim in the defense line, and with them Ayman Ashraf, but the latter is participating in the left front due to the absence of Maaloul for some time because of the injury.
Musimani pushed the duo Rabiaa and Bannon in the last match of Zamalek in the league, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
It is intended by Seasoniani to continue the defense with the same duo (Rabia and Bannon) in the defense line against Sun Downs in the match that will be held next Saturday in the first leg of the African Champions League quarter-finals.
Al-Ahly will enter a closed camp tomorrow in preparation for the upcoming African match, which comes a week before the return match scheduled for May 22nd in South Africa.
The South African Sun Downs mission arrived in Cairo in the early hours of this morning in preparation for facing Al-Ahly, and headed to the residence and then went to rest, as the mission goes to its first training this evening, which will be in one of the stadiums chosen by the mission, provided that the last session will be at Al Salam Stadium, which will host The meeting and at the same time of the match, according to the regulations of the African Union.
