The Palestinian ambassador to Russia, Abdel Hafiz Nofal, said that Palestine fears that the situation in East Jerusalem will get out of control.
"We fear that events will completely get out of control, and now I hope that the position of the Arab countries and the international community will force Israel in some way to stop this policy," Nofal added during a press conference, according to Sputnik news agency today.
He continued, "If Israel improves relations with all Arab countries without improving relations with Palestine, there will still be a risk of a crisis."
It is noteworthy that the tension escalated between the Gaza Strip and Israel, due to the events in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied East Jerusalem.
Palestinian armed factions fired rockets towards Israel, in response to what they described as a violation of the rights of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestinian citizens in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem.
Israel responded by launching violent air strikes on the Strip, which resulted in the deaths of dozens of Palestinians, including women and children, in addition to destroying residential buildings, police headquarters, and other Palestinian armed factions.
