The CDC has identified some groups that must adhere to wearing masks, despite taking full doses of Coronavirus vaccines, as it was found that these people are vulnerable to infection even if they receive the full vaccination, according to what was reported in CNN.
The Centers for Disease Control indicated that children are at the forefront of those groups that must adhere to wearing masks while going to school, and as experts have warned people who suffer from a disease or are taking drugs that weaken the immune system, to take off the masks and the need to continue to take all precautions.
Among these groups also are people who suffer from immunodeficiency, so it is necessary to consult with their doctors before making a decision to stop wearing the mask, and also people who have undergone organ transplants or are undergoing chemotherapy, may not enjoy the same degree of protection from Corona vaccines for the transmission of infection.
Experts at the control centers mentioned the need to be careful with dialysis patients, because they also do not enjoy protection from infection despite receiving full vaccination, along with immunodeficiency or AIDS patients, as the body in that case becomes unable to fight infection from the virus.
The Centers for Disease Control recommended that transplant patients take daily medications that suppress the immune system to prevent it from rejecting the new organ, and it also warned patients who receive chemotherapy that works by killing cell growth to prevent cancer cells from multiplying, thus weakening the immune system.
She noted that some types of immunotherapy, stem cell transplantation, bone marrow and other drugs can severely weaken the immune system.
Diabetics should also be careful in wearing masks because this disease has been shown to weaken immunity, as there are 34.2 million people living with diabetes in the United States, and another 88 million suffer from prediabetes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Experts emphasized that obesity is among the diseases that are related to a weak immune system, as more than 40% of Americans suffer from obesity as well as chronic kidney disease, liver, heart and aging.
Cancer patients are also among the patients who must adhere to wearing masks because they may suffer from a weakened immune system.
The CDC recommends that patients with heart disease who have also been fully vaccinated, follow CDC guidelines regarding wearing masks and social distancing.
She also explained that pregnant women are more likely to be infected with the severe Coronavirus, and social distancing must be adhered to as well.
