The President of Greece is absent from the hearing in a lawsuit filed by a Russian citizen against her

Greece's President Katrina Saklaropoulou was absent from an unprecedented hearing held at the State Council, the country's highest administrative court, under a lawsuit filed by Russian citizen Alexander Vinik against her.

The Russian citizen filed his lawsuit, demanding the President for compensation of one million euros, and the plaintiff demanded 800,000 euros and a lesser case against the remaining 29 judges who were included in the case.

Informed sources indicated that "none of the defendants appeared to the court."

The presiding judge read the names of all the defendants and announced their absence, while lawyer Zoe Constantopoulou said, "You can see that this is a coordinated and organized action."

He said, "Finike has not seen his young children for four years (now they are 7 and 10 years old), and his wife, who fought for 3 years with brain cancer, died 6 months ago, at the age of 34 years .. His children are growing up now orphans of the mother and without a father." .

Vinik stated at the time, that he "did not violate any laws in France and the United States, nor did he commit any criminal offenses or administrative violations," and announced his agreement to extradite him to Russia, while he was handed over to France in January 2020.

The Russian citizen was arrested in July 2017, while on vacation in Greece, by order of the US Department of Justice, and in violation of the Greek constitution.
