The Afghan Ministry of Defense announced that 419 Taliban militants were killed and wounded in clashes with Afghan security forces during the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Defense added - in a statement reported by the Afghan "Bakhtar" news agency today, Sunday, that clashes erupted in 13 provinces, killing 259 militants and wounding 160 others, in addition to destroying a large amount of Taliban weapons and ammunition.
Meanwhile, a number of landmines planted by Taliban militants were discovered and neutralized.
At the same time, the Taliban announced its control over several areas of the country, including the Mirzaka district of Paktia province, located in the southeast of the country, but the Ministry of Defense has not yet confirmed the fall of the area.
