And the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported that Ismail directed the departments of the Basra Oil and South Gas Companies and the relevant departments at the Ministry's center, while presiding over intense meetings at the Basra Oil Company headquarters in Basra Governorate, to "accelerate the finalization of the proposed economic model for the planned integrated gas project." The Iraqi minister said, "These projects fall within the priorities of the ministry's plans in the optimal investment of associated gas and the advancement of infrastructure, in order to convert the energy that is burned into useful energy that supports the national economy and sustainable development projects."
He pointed to "the importance of intensifying meetings and discussions, especially for the technical, financial, legal, economic and contractual axes with national companies, relevant departments and experts in order to reach an ideal formulation of contracts and agreements with sober international companies to achieve the highest economic return for Iraq," stressing "the importance of signing with Total International in the sectors of Gas, clean energy and infrastructure.
For his part, the Undersecretary of the Iraqi Oil Ministry for Extraction Affairs, Karim Hattab, said that "the integrated gas project includes the construction of the Artawi gas investment complex, the sea water project, and the development of the Artawi field," expressing "his hope for the conclusion of many contracts that contribute to achieving the goal." Increasing and sustaining production, despite economic and health challenges.
