Customs signs a protocol with "industrial control" to reduce customs release time


Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, confirmed that the ministry aims to expand the customs release of the green track system, by granting this and other incentives to committed companies that join the “white list”, in a way that contributes to stimulating investment and maximizing exports, and is consistent with efforts to facilitate trade movement. Internal and external, reducing the time of customs release, and reducing the prices of goods and services in local markets, by facilitating and mechanizing procedures and dealing with a one-stop-shop through the electronic platform “window”.

 

The Minister explained, in a press statement, today, Friday, that the “Accredited Economic Operator” program is subject to continuous development, to increase the number of companies in the “white list” and to support small and medium enterprises, and the criteria for joining this investment stimulus program is currently being reviewed, in light of the latest developments. international standards.

 


El-Shahat Ghaturi, head of the Customs Authority, said that a cooperation protocol was signed with the Industrial Control Authority, to enhance the approved economic operator “AEO Egypt” program, which includes facilities for “white list” companies, including: the release of the green track system, and the priority of the role in registering the customs declaration. Presentation to the x-ray examination, detection, inspection, and sampling apparatus, completion of the release procedures after official working hours, and the provision of a field coordinator at the logistic center to assist these companies in completing customs release procedures, in addition to following up on the stages of sample examination at the General Organization for Export and Import Control.


Al-Ghatouri added: “With this protocol, we aim to enhance aspects of cooperation in the field of facilitating and securing the international trade supply chain by activating the relevant modern international programs, on top of which is the “Accredited Economic Operator” (AEO Egypt) program, and supporting productive projects by overcoming the obstacles they face in related areas. Relevance to the functions of the Industrial Control Department, to increase its access to foreign markets, and to attract new foreign investments.



He indicated that the Customs will provide the Industrial Control Authority with a list of companies approved by the approved economic operator program “AEO Egypt”, taking into account that it is constantly updated, and the production companies affiliated with Industrial Control that apply for accreditation in the program are inquired to indicate the degree of their commitment, as well as providing them with accreditation decisions. The suspension and deletion of the program, and the observations and complaints of member companies related to industrial control, which fall within the scope of their competence.

 

For his part, Major General Engineer Abdel Raouf Ahmadi, head of the Industrial Control Authority, said that the concluded protocol gives priority to the economic operators who are members of the AEO Egypt program with regard to technical studies procedures to follow up on the use of production requirements and service spare parts, and the priority of the role with regard to completing the procedures for the industrial report. In addition to responding to the complaints of economic operators that are members of the program, and notifying the program of violations related to member companies, whether they are import or operational, resulting from the visits of committees to issue reports on usage rates and “wasted and lost” ratios, and providing the program with a list of documents required to perform the services granted to investors.

 

He added that the two parties are cooperating in holding workshops for common interests, which include introducing the program and its terms of reference and the benefits that accrue to the commercial community, and highlighting the role of the Industrial Control Department in promoting national industries and their specializations, noting that a semi-annual meeting will be held between the two parties; To review and evaluate performance, pointing out that this protocol enters into force from the date of signature of the two parties, and is valid for two years.

 

He emphasized that industrial control plays a pivotal role in strengthening the control system over factories and manufacturing processes, and ensuring their commitment to applying the highest local and international quality standards; In a way that contributes to achieving optimal protection for the Egyptian consumer and the national economy, noting that, according to the protocol, coordination mechanisms will be defined to respond to all inquiries from member companies accredited to the program related to the activity of the Industrial Control Authority, via “e-mail, phone, fax, and others.”

 

The signing of the protocol was attended by Atef Ibrahim, Head of the Central Department of Public Relations and Communications at the Customs Authority, Nashwa Ghazi, Head of the Central Department of the Accredited Economic Operator, Mohamed Hossam, Director General of the General Department of Operations at the Accredited Economic Operator, Saleh Abdel Qader, Director of the Research Department, Mona Anwar, Head of the Media Department, and a number of leaders of the Authority. industrial development.
