The Libyan Ministry of Health stated that it had received a new batch of Russian "Sputnik V" vaccines against the Corona virus, consisting of 100,000 doses.
The ministry said in a statement, according to the official page of the Libyan Ministry of Health, that the shipment, which contains 100,000 doses of the vaccine, was deposited and arrived through Matiqa International Airport, in the warehouses of the medical supply agency in the city of Tripoli.
And she added: "In a connected way, the inspectors of the Food and Drug Control Center have withdrawn samples from the shipment, to subject them to the necessary laboratory analyzes before releasing and using them."
Libya received the first batch of Russian vaccines in April 2021, which also included 100,000 doses, with the launch of a national campaign for vaccination against the Corona virus, focusing on the adult population over 70 years.
Libya, with a population of 6.7 million, has recorded about 190,000 cases of coronavirus, including 3,166 deaths.
