American tennis player Coco Gauff infected with Corona and her absence from the Olympics

Young American tennis player Coco Gauff announced her absence from the Tokyo Olympics, after she was infected with the Corona virus, which prevents her from participating in her country's mission to Japan to participate in the tournament.

Goff wrote on her Twitter account that she was frustrated at not being able to lead the US women's team participating in the Olympics, which includes Jennifer Brady, Jessica Pegola, Alison Riske and Bethian Mattek Sands, with whom she would compete in the duo competition.

She added, "My dream has always been to represent the United States in the Olympic Games, but I hope that I will have more opportunities in the future, and that my dream will come true in the coming period."

The 17-year-old American has succeeded in qualifying for the quarter-finals of the French Roland Garros and the round of 16 of Wimbledon, the second and third Grand Slam tournaments in the world of tennis, and is considered one of the most prominent American talents in the game.

The player joins the list of stars who will miss the Olympics due to the Corona virus, which also includes tennis player Pradel Bell, who announced his absence from the tournament last Thursday.
