Atletico Madrid has officially announced the renewal of the contract of Vitolo, the Rokhi Blancos winger, for two seasons. Atlético de Madrid issued an official statement saying, "Vitolo has extended his contract with our club until 2024, and accordingly he will remain a player for us for another two years."
"At the same time, Atletico Madrid and Getafe have reached an agreement that Vitolo will play for Getafe on loan during the next season," the club statement added.
"The club wishes him all the best in this new professional stage," Atlético de Madrid's statement concluded.
For his part, Vitolo said, "A quick agreement was reached and I wanted to stay in Madrid, and I will also play in Getafe, I have known Michel for a long time."
He added, "I was very comfortable at Atletico, especially in the dressing room which was very good, but training and not being competitive on weekends made me make that decision. I came here to play."
He continued, "Michel told me that he believes in me, this is the important thing, he told me that he will try for me in other positions, and we will see where I play, confidence is what I need, to feel loved at the club, and things will work out there."
