Egypt's cement exports achieved, during the period "January-May" 2021, a remarkable growth of 181% to record $135 million, compared to $48 million during the same period last year.
The monthly report issued by the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractories and Metal Industries, today, Monday, indicated that exports were made during the first 5 months of the year to about 67 countries, 23 of which were not exported during the same period last year, including (Cameroon - Mauritania - Tanzania - Italy Honduras - Djibouti - Dominica - Venezuela - Barbados - Niger - Zambia - Northern Rhodesia - Chile - Paraguay - Puerto Rico - Guatemala - Mauritius - Switzerland - Panama - Togo - Burundi - Trinidad and Tobago - Kuwait).
The report added that countries accounted for 77.8% of Egypt's total exports of cement, led by "Libya" which acquired 19.8% of the total exports, with a value of $26.792 million, followed by "Kenya" which acquired 16.3%, with a value of $22.09 million, and occupied "Ivory Coast" Egypt ranked third in terms of importing countries for Egyptian cement, accounting for 12.5% of exports, with a value of 16.921 million dollars, followed by “Sudan” with 14.970 million dollars, and “Uganda” with a value of 9.991 million dollars, while Egypt’s exports of cement to “Ghana” amounted to About $8.511 million.
The report indicated that cement exports to "Cameroon" during the first 5 months of 2021 amounted to $5.757 million, while "the United States of America" ranked eighth in terms of importing countries, with a value of $4.302 million, then "Palestine" with a value of $3.091 million, and Senegal About 2.523 million dollars.
