Tunisian Union of Labor: We want a mini-government with an experienced president

The Tunisian Labor Union expressed its desire for a mini-government with an experienced president, and the union stated, in a statement issued this evening, Tuesday, that it wanted this mini-government to send positive signals to Tunisians and international donors.

It should be noted that Tunisian President Kais Saied had taken important decisions, including a decision to relieve Prime Minister Hicham El Mechichi from his post.

Saeed also decided, during an emergency meeting of the military and security leaders, to "freeze the parliament's work and lift the parliament's immunity," noting that this decision should have been taken months ago.

The Tunisian president added that he also decided to take over the executive authority with the help of a new prime minister who would appoint him himself. The decisions of the Tunisian president came against the backdrop of the violent protests that took place in many cities.
