Greek police have deployed a large number of drones, cameras and other technology in the Evros delta border area.
Greek authorities have installed high-tech cameras and radar equipment on poles to monitor the area "in order to prevent the illegal entry of migrants," police officer Demosthenes Kamargos said.
"The goal is to wake up early, before the migrants reach the borders," he added.
"In order to obtain an accurate picture in real time, the entire border, from the Evros delta to the Greek-Bulgarian border, will be monitored with sensors and thermal cameras," the policeman at the regional center for border management and immigration added.
